Cold Showers

Hello Grandma,

How come waterbottles remind you of me? haha.
I´m living in an apartment with my companion. We have a fridge. The shower has no hot water but its ok because its so hot here that the cold shower for once is quite refreshing. We boil our water and then cool it in our fridge to prevent bacteria. We eat lunch with different members every day. I usually have no idea what I´m eating. A lot of rice and beans and chicken but it´s all cooked so different here. Oh, I eat a lot of soup also. I´ll cook for you when I return. Next monday an investigator family is gonna teach me how to make a Colombian meal. I´m really excited about this family because they´re new contacts but I feel really good about them going to accept the invitation to be baptized. They´re coming to church with us this Sunday. Can you pray for them to be baptized? thanks.
:) I´m very proud of you making sure the point on your pens aren´t out after you use them. haha. I learned it from my dad.
Holy Smokes about your car. I´m sorry its having problems.
Do you need anything from me? I love you very much and I hope you know that you also are in my prayers. That you can have safety and health and especially peace in a world with so many troubles.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Love,
Elder McDermott (your grandson)

New Years & Pictures

Elder Robinson from Nephi UT is in my district here in Melgar. You guys see so many gringos in my pictures because there are only so many cities that gringos are aloud that we're not too far from each other. But this picture is of our Colombian authentic shirts we bought on the street new years eve. I love it.

I love this Elder. Elder Brassel from Virginia. He´s been one of the hugest strengths to me here in Colombia. He´s been here a year. And he insanely reminds me of Sam Billings in every way.

This might as well be the blood from my heart on the kitchen floor. But alas, no, it isn´t. It´s the Cholula that fell out of the fridge door and chattered on the floor. I wept. The end.

This is the sweetest old lady. I think her mind is a bit gone cuz I´m pretty sure she thinks we´re Catholic Priests. She kisses the back of my hand and hold my hand in hers next to her face as she rest her head upon em every single time we go over there. It´s her daughter that we teach but I love this little old lady. ha, ya she calls Papacito. And she always makes sure to tell me that she has faith in Jesus and is happy with the little she has.
